2. Description of the Related Art Among portable work machines, for example, a chainsaw has an internal combustion engine as a power source, and a fuel tank for storing fuel supplied to the internal combustion engine is provided in a casing of the work machine body. . Usually, there is no effective means for detecting the remaining amount of fuel in the fuel tank of these portable work machines, and the operator's intuition such as rocking the machine is often used.

Problems to be solved by the invention With such a conventional technique, there is a possibility that the fuel may run out during work, or the lid of the fuel inlet may be removed to check the inside of the tank. Or
In addition, for example, as in US Pat. No. 4,483,072, even with a fuel gauge provided on the upper surface of the machine body of the chainsaw, it becomes difficult for the operator to visually recognize it due to the change in the attitude of the machine body, and it is expensive. There was a defect such as.

Means for Solving the Problems That is, the portable working machine according to the present invention is a portable working machine such as a chainsaw provided with a tank for storing liquid consumed during work in the casing of the main body. A transparent projecting portion protruding from the casing to the outside is formed on one side of the casing, an injection port for injecting the liquid into the tank is formed in the projecting portion, and the injection port is detachable by a cap. It is closed, and an annular exposed portion of the see-through protruding portion is formed between the casing and the cap.

Therefore, according to the configuration of the present invention, the contents in the tank can be visually confirmed at the annular exposed portion of the overhanging portion of the tank, and the amount of the contents in the tank can be confirmed even during the work.

In this embodiment, an operator holds an internal combustion engine for driving a saw chain, a fuel tank,
This is an example in which the present invention is applied to a fuel tank of a chain saw having a well-known configuration, which accommodates an oil-lubricating oil tank, a carburetor, etc., and has a front handle and a rear handle (not shown), and a body held by an operator with both hands 1, a fuel tank 2 is disposed below the fuel tank 2, and the fuel tank 2 is covered and protected by a casing 3 of the main body 1. The fuel tank 2 is formed of a relatively thin plastic material, is translucent, allows the contents to be seen through from the outside, and stores the fuel 5 to be supplied to the internal combustion engine 4 therein. The fuel tank 2 is integrally formed on one side thereof with a cylindrical transparent projecting portion 6 projecting outward from the casing 6. The transparent projecting portion 6 is used by an operator who holds the main body 1 while working. For example, it is exposed by being projected to the outside by, for example, about several millimeters from the opening 7 formed in the side portion of the casing 3 which is easily visible in a natural view. The transparent projecting portion 6 is integrally formed with a fuel inlet 8 for injecting fuel into the fuel tank on the exposed outer surface thereof. A screw 9 is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the fuel injection port 8, and a cap 10 is detachably screwed to the screw 9. The outer diameter of the cap 10 is the fuel tank 2
Is slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the see-through overhanging portion 6 of FIG. An externally exposed annular exposed portion 11 is formed that allows a person to naturally view the field during work. Since the fuel in the fuel tank 2 naturally exists also inside the transparent projecting portion 6, the liquid surface 12 of the fuel 5 appears at the annular exposed portion 11 and the operator can change the position of this liquid surface. It is possible to easily check the amount of the fuel 5 in the fuel tank 2 by visually observing the cap 10 from any side around the cap 10 that naturally comes into view. If the outer peripheral portion 13 of the cap 10 has a scale line 14, the liquid surface 12 can be visually checked and the liquid amount can be checked more easily.

Advantageous Effects of Invention With the configuration of the present invention described above, the present invention has a simple and reliable structure in which the transparent projecting portion of the tank is projected from the casing to the outside as compared with the conventional one, so that the worker can carry the portable work machine according to the present invention. Therefore, it is possible to perform the work while checking the amount of the contents in the tank of the working machine even during the work. For example, with a chain saw, the inconvenience of running out of fuel during the work is eliminated.
